VOLUNTEER INFORMATION MEETING: January 6, 2013

ESL (English as a second language) is a vital ministry at Leesburg UMC. Our program began in the fall of 2006 and since that time we have served more than 300 students. Our program rests on the shoulders of more than 35 volunteers from the LUMC congregation and the Leesburg or Loudoun County communities.

The Leesburg UMC instructional program is delivered in fall and spring sessions that are 10 weeks long. Classes during each session are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm in the church at 107 W. Market Street in Leesburg. No prior teaching experience is needed and training is available

Registration

• Registration is held before each session. Students' English speaking, reading and comprehension skills are assessed and then students are placed in classes ranging from introduction to English to advanced English conversation.
• For the 2013 year, the registration fee is $30 and included textbooks.

SPRING 2013 SESSION INFORMATION  

REGISTRATION: January 10, 2013  6:30-8pm

Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7 – 9 pm;

Classes start on January 15 to April 2, 2013

Students

• Any area resident wishing to improve his/her English skills is eligible to register for these classes.

Teachers

• More than 35 volunteers from the LUMC congregation and from the communities of Leesburg and Loudoun County have served as team teachers in our program There are currently openings for teachers and administrators.

• No prior teaching experience is needed and training is available
